Læsø is the contrast to northern Norway
Læsø is all the horizontal lines
Læsø is the feminine element
The gentle the level lines, the light
when my soul is filled with the subtle energy
I find balance again
in the company of the masculinity of Northern Norway

Carried by Water
Læsø is a multitude of ornaments
Læse is patterns in water
The lines of the sun in the shallow water
which move like snake ribbons
which dance and twist,
come together and separate –
yet again to gather indefinitely

Sky Stones
The reflection of the sky
in the shallow immensely quite water in the South west
only interposed by those stones
that were never collected
and used for curch building
Magic appears
the horizon has disappeared
The stones lie for a long time in the wet sand
The stones float in their new metamorphosis
towards the heavens

Læsø is the sense of Eternity.
It is low tide in the southwest
The reflection of the sky in the quiet water
I am walking on the heavens’ mirror.
My eye senses eternity
I receive a feeling of Interconnectedness

Læsø is the sense of Eternity.
When it is low tide in the southwest
and the reflection of the sky is visible
in the immensely quiet water,
I am walking on the heavens’ mirror.
My eye senses eternity
and
I receive a feeling of Interconnectedness

Like Lines in Water
Læsø is a labyrinth of lines
Læsø is lines in the wet sand
lines which are drawn,
when the wave lazily has licked the beach
and withdraws back into the ocean
The finest maze
or a mountain landscape
mapped out by the hand of nature
Lines of horizons. Lines of life. Lifelines…
Lines call for multitudes of associations.
Lines create ties and relation.
In painting we have surface, lines, and points

Studio on Læsø
Læsø is my Paradise.
In the old forge shop behind the smithery
is my wonderful studio.
Læsø is my safe haven, a haven of peace.
To experience spring on Læsø
is a great privilege.
I am deeply grateful.
